Biography
Enormously popular at music festivals and DJ round ups around the world Dj Dwight "chocolate" Escobar is our own connoisseur of afro Cuban and latin rythms, mixing Cuban Timba, Latin Rap Hispanic, Hip-Hop and the most exquisite Salsa. Dwight has played to large crowds at major latin events all over Australia and the world was a pioneer in the introduction of the Cuban sound to Sydney.

Recently DJ Dwight "chocolate Escobar has launched a new night of Afro Cuban sessions at the Basement, bringing big international artists from New York, Havana and Venezuela to our Australian latin music scene. This popular new night is backing up DJ Dwight "Chocolate" Escobar's already successful  Thursday and Friday nights at the Cruise bar and La Cita.Friday night DJ Dwight Chocolate Escobar reigns supreme. His electric mix of salsa beats heat up both the dance-floor and the crowd.

 Thursday nights Dwight uses his charismatic and suave style to turn what would normally be a cold winter night into an exuberant summer experience playing his electric combination of the very best of Salsa coming out of New York, LA and Havana in a place beautifully located and packed with some of the best Sydney salsa dancers mingling with celebrities, members of Sydney's night scene and tourists responding to the buzz that has been created around Chocolate's night.

 DJ Dwight "Chocolate" Escobar is making his mark and with his natural charisma and the grace of God making him not only one of Australia's but one of the world's best.

Dwight "Chocolate" Escobar, el joven que ha creado tanto revuelo en la escena salsera mundial es caraqueño de gran carisma y un estilo incomparable. Dwight lleva el sonido latino al más alto nivel y representa a esa nueva generación de discjockeys que se mantienen al día con las últimas producciones musicales sin dejar de lado los sonidos clásicos. Chocolate vive este ritmo como ningún otro y lo toca y baila como sólo el sabe hacerlo.

Chocolate llega de la tropical Caracas y es un gran conocedor de los ritmos afro latinos y mezcla fabulosa Salsa Dura con otros ritmos incluyendo el mambo, el cha-cha, la rumba. Y hasta merengue y bachata si la ocasión lo amerita. Además es un experto timbero y como resultado produce un set que es una verdadera delicia para bailarlo o escucharlo.

Chocolate ha llevado su ecléctica combinación de sonidos latinos a un buen numero de festivales alrededor del mundo incluyendo las Fiestas de Ginebra junto a Juancyto Martínez, el Festival de las Artes Olímpico de Sydney compartiendo el escenario con AfroCuban All Stars, la fiesta VIP ofrecida a Celia Cruz y José Alberto el Canario, los congresos de Salsa de Sydney y Marsella, el Caliente de Zurich, Cubanismo en la Casa de la Opera de Sydney y los festivales internacionales de Perth, Adelaida y Brisbane.

Ha tenido el honor de compartir escenarios con el venezolano Oscar D'Leon, el puertorriqueño Wayne Gorbea, Edwin Bonilla, El Africano Ricardo lembo y su "Makina Loca" los cubanos Carlos Manuel y su Clan, Cubanisimo, Sonora La Calle, Mercado Negro, 3 de la Habana, Osvaldo Chacon, Los Van Van, Los Estadounidenses, Ozomatli y muchos mas.
